Week at Unsworth Sugden opens new career paths for university student

October 4th, 2018

As a Creative Writing and Journalism student at De Montfort University, a career in PR was something I hadn’t really thought about – until now.

When I finished my second year in April, I wondered where the best place to get more work experience would be and a PR agency seemed like the kind of exciting place worth trying.

Since the very second I walked through the door at Unsworth Sugden, everyone was super friendly and welcoming. I was treated like a real employee – given a tour around the office and shown how to use equipment. Everyone really made me feel like I was part of the team.

My work at Unsworth Sugden revolved around real briefs such as writing press releases for leading UK companies, creating guest lists and doing research.  I was taught how to use programmes such as Ebiquity and given tips that will be essential to my future career.

Thanks to my week at the office, I discovered an interest in PR I never knew I had and am now considering pursuing it as a career. I would definitely recommend anyone with a passion for PR, or simply for writing, to come and do work experience at Unsworth Sugden. You won’t regret it!
