I love talking to people and writing is my passion.

My job involves writing a lot of press releases and requires a lot of organisation skills. Interviewing client case studies and booking photography are two of my main roles. Every day is different which keeps the job fresh and exciting.

Do you have any previous experience in this industry, if so, doing what and where?

I studied journalism for three years at De Montfort University and had multiple work experience placements at magazines and local papers.

What made you take this route?

While studying journalism I took a few modules on public relations and really enjoyed it and realised that this is something that I would like to pursue.

What do you like about USG?

I love my job! Every day involves something different which keeps it fresh. I also love the people, everyone at USG and the clients are so friendly and get you involved in everything. It’s such a lovely place to work.

Do you have any hobbies/what do you do in your spare time?

In my spare time I like to do a lot of exercise, I go to an Insanity class twice a week, I do a lot of running and we’ve turned our garage into a home gym!

Three further facts about yourself –

– I’ve swum with dolphins in Cuba and turtles in Mexico

– I absolutely love elephants, I have around 30 figurines made out of all types of materials – I collect one from every country that I visit.

Name: Charlotte Spice

Age: 22

Job Title: PR Assistant

Where do you live?

Quorn, Loughborough

What do you enjoy about your job?

I like that it allows you to be creative and come up with new ideas that haven’t been done before. It’s also rewarding when you’ve spent a lot of time researching/creating something and it receives good coverage.

What does your job involve?

My job involves the creation of press releases and a lot of research in order to produce engaging content. It also involves liaising with clients to ensure a good relationship is maintained.

Do you have any previous experience in this industry, if so, doing what and where?

I used to work for a Digital Marketing Agency in Peterborough. It involved managing content writers for numerous digital platforms and also the creation of content. After my role here I joined Leicestershire Police as a constable, until I joined Unsworth Sugden.

What made you take this route?

I wanted to get back into an industry where I had the opportunity to be creative again. Writing has always been a passion of mine, so a job where I can do it every day really appealed to me. It was definitely a huge career change, but one I am very glad I made!

What do you like about USG?

It’s a very vibrant company which always maintains a positive atmosphere. Although it’s busy, no one is ever too busy to give you a helping hand.

Do you have any hobbies/what do you do in your spare time?

I like to travel as often as I can, whether it’s a day trip to a city or a full weekend away, I really love experiencing new cultures and seeing different parts of the world! So, I tend to go as often as I can.

Three further facts about yourself –

– Definitely a cat person rather than a dog person (controversial!)

– I can play the drums.

– I only very recently moved to Loughborough to pursue my career as I am originally from Stamford in Lincolnshire.
